Heaven’s Treasures
An Offering of Good, Wholesome Work by Asteroid Head Art Club

To be presented at the Okay Mountain Project Space
Austin, TX
March 20 – April 18 2010

Asteroid Head Art Club is trekking south for some fun in the sun, and they’re bringing treasure! That’s right. They have been mining that boreal landscape, that dried-up prehistoric sea known as Kansas, and they have found some real gems. With aching hands and weary minds, the seven members of Asteroid Head are packing up their wind tattered tents and carefully crating their treasures. They are coming to Austin with offerings in exchange for some fair weather and hospitality.

Kansas occupies the vast, weather-beaten, landlocked geographical center of our country -- a true-blue, salt-of-the-earth kind of place. The members of Asteroid Head, a rag-tag group of reformed misfits, share this landscape as their proverbial stomping grounds. The treasures they bring to Austin have been pulled, literally and figuratively, from this hallowed ground. These are wholesome works from a wholesome land, a land that to outsiders could seem featureless and drab, but to this group of creative Jayhawkers Kansas is just heavenly.
